II. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE NAME JEHOVAH-JIREH
A. The Immediate Great Provision
1. Imagine the JOY of Abraham in verse 14.
B. The Future Great Provision
1. Carefully notice the words in the last part of verse 14:
"...In the mount of the LORD it SHALL be seen."
2. So verse 14 becomes a prophecy about what is going to happen...
one day it will be provided...what? Salvation through Jesus.
3. "Mount Moriah" means provision of God.
4. Do YOU believe that Abraham understood the future prophecy that was
being made in verse 14?
a) I think he did.

"Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad."
5. That future Lamb would be Jesus....Gods provision for us. Isaac was just
a figure of the real sacrifice
(see Heb. 11:19).6. Did you know that Mount Moriah was the same mount that Jesus was
crucified on? We call it Mount Calvary.

III. AN IMPORTANT APPLICATION OF JEHOVAH-JIREH
A. Read Romans 8:32:
"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all,
how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"

give us all things.
B. Read Philippians 4:19:
"But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
C. Read Hebrews 11:39,40:
"And these all, having obtained a good report through faith,
received not the promise:
God having provided some better thing for us,
that they without us should not be made perfect."
